5/28/2011 ~ Phoenix Comic Con

YOGSCAST?!

I have a twin, gentlemen! Yes, I know this may seem like a shock but she is older then me! I know, quite a shock indeed.

Today was spent rather lazily, we were all pretty dazed from the night before… but we were fairly awake in time. : P  I signed out from the hotel and headed down to the con, it was much less insanely crowded, but still crowded to an extent. Less pictures today, less to do, but still a nice day overall.

Attended a Clannad Panel, and that was about it! Sat around with friends and talked. Ate a lot of candy and had pizza from Z PIZZA. Met a friend’s girlfriend as well.

The convention was overall a LOT of fun, and it’s a great location despite being far from late night food outlets. It’s okay though, as it was delicious regardless. More milkshakes today, and ended the night by playing Pokémon.

Oh god, today I was so incredibly tired. Well, I was for most of the con to be quite honest. I tried to take as many pictures as possible though I promise. D:

I participated in a contest panel, became a bear, won some Pocky, played chess, walked to Circle K about 10 times with friends, went to ANOTHER Waffle House and had more delicious pancakes.

I cosplayed Ritsu Tainaka once more, it was fun and worth it but the wind must have granted thousands of panty shots to onlookers. Ah well.

It’s finally here, and yes, that’s me in a dress.

Con-Nichiwa is full of energy, and everyone seems incredibly excited to be here.

I started the day by going to a few panels, namely Mahjong 102, hosted by a good friend of mine, Toshi. Later we all went to a waffle / breakfast restaurant to enjoy food and cosplay, about 40 people occupied the small hall of said diner, and they all looked very odd. It was in fact our group of adventurers.

Pictures are to follow like usual. :3

March 25-27th. 2011 : 12:00pm Friday – 6:00pm Sunday

On March 25 – 27, 2011, we welcome you to Con-nichiwa!

We have been emboldened by the outpouring of interest from fans and attendees that there be a Tucson based anime convention focused on the fans.

We believe that fans should be able to attend a well organized convention.

We believe that fans should be treated with respect and that their physical and mental well being should be protectd.

We believe that if you purchase a ticket to an event, you have entered into a compact wherein you can complain or complement that event, without fear of retaliation or retribution.

We believe volunteers and staff should be treated professional and respectfully.

Staff and volunteers should be a part of the vision of the convention. They should be trained and given direction. They should bear witness to leadership that puts the fans and attendees first. In ways large and small, I personally and others from Phoenix Comicon and Saboten-Con are stepping up to offer leadership in bringing a singular, successful, and fun anime convention to Tucson.

We are announcing the formation of a new anime convention in Tucson: Con-nichiwa.

Con-nichiwa will be held March 25-27, 2011 at the Holiday Inn Palo Verde. It is being planned by those who have organized the Phoenix Comicon and Saboten-Con, with support from the Tucson Anime Screening Society (T.A.S.S.), Pima Anime Club, and AZHP.

[Update!] [5:41 1/12/2011] New pictures have been found and added.

Taiyou-con is finally over. So many memories were created, so many friendships planted, and an incredible amount of rice was eaten. At one point I was just so happy to be there I ended up wearing a dress to the enjoyment of my friends. Ah, and with the end of this monumental convention comes the end of the raffle. Sorry, but entries are now closed. However, winners have been chosen. So check your email soon guys. ;3

First as we arrived I began taking as many pictures as possible as fast as possible, it may seem unorthodox but it’s truly a great hobby of mine. I cosplayed in my friends Marisa-chan dress and stole the precious thing, and participated in an amazing FF:BC group as gun. Sadly not everyone could make it as originally planned, so gifts were purchased for them. ^-^

Pictures are available on the link below.

Are you going, to the Taiyou? I often hear it is like a compressed Japan. Finally Taiyou-con is upon us, long has it taunted me with it’s wonderful adventure and annoying/addicting advertising. It takes place this Friday to this Sunday, (January 7-9, 2011.) I am very excited to go as I plan on buying a pillow and covering the entire event here on the Meow Meow Container.

I haven’t begun to tell you the exciting bit, though, as I will be having a raffle! Two random commenters will receive a prize from yours truly, and it will contain many wonderful things. Simply leave a comment on any post with a taiyou-con tag and I will message the winners via email. Easy as cake. You have until Monday, the 10th so get hopping!
